Infinite Light
October 7 Memorial · 10 feet
A ten-foot yahrzeit memorial candle crowned by an eternal flame. The names of the more than 1,200 victims of October 7th are intricately cut from the candle's walls — and the cut-out letters themselves rise to form the flame.
The negative space left by each name lets light pass through: the profound absence felt by a nation. The letters that rise embody the inextinguishable Jewish soul — devastating loss and resilient hope, held in a single form.
Envisioned for a round plaza with a low stone wall — a sheltered refuge where visitors sit within the interplay of light and shadow, enveloped in remembrance.
Pillars of Light
The Bondi Beach Memorial Menorah · Proposed
A proposed permanent memorial at Bondi Beach honoring the fifteen victims of the terrorist attack of 14 December 2025 — the first night of Chanukah. Fifteen illuminated Corten steel pillars, each cut with the name and age of a victim, rise together into the form of a menorah, approximately five metres tall.
Visitors walk among and beneath the pillars; at night, the names shine from within. The shamash — the helper candle that kindles the others — is dedicated to the first responders whose courage brought light in a moment of profound darkness.
Each year at Chanukah, the menorah will be lit in a public ceremony at Bondi Beach — returning, year after year, to answer darkness with light. Fifteen pillars for fifteen lives.
